Attorney Erickson is a graduate of Boston College (A.B. 1982, with honors) and Rutgers University School of Law (J.D. 1985). He attended Boston University School of Law as a visiting student (1984-1985). He is a presently a candidate for a Masters in Criminal Justice at UMass at Lowell, Massachusetts, anticipated to be awarded in 2012. He has practiced in Massachusetts since his admission to the bar in 1985. Attorney Erickson attended the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Advanced College in Trial Advocacy and also the Committee for Public Counsel Services intensive jury skills training course based upon the National Criminal Defense College Program.
Attorney Erickson is the author of Massachusetts Civil Practice: Trial published by West Group and has spoken extensively on the law, including in the areas of appeals, collateral effects of criminal sentences, operating under the influence (OUI), constitutional law, Melanie’s Law, recent Supreme Court decisions, and the Massachusetts public defender system.
Attorney Erickson has also served as a mentor to younger attorneys on behalf of the Committee for Public Counsel Services and as a judge at the Boston University School of Law moot court program. He is presently the president of the Northern Middlesex Bar Association and has been a longtime member and the former Vice President. Attorney Erickson has also served as a case conciliator in the District Court and has served as a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Appellate Bench Bar Committee.
In the local community Attorney Erickson is the longtime participant in an organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and has served as a volunteer to numerous other community and charitable organizations.
